- Control Resonant is said to offer about 30 hours for its main experience.
- Completionist players may spend closer to 50 hours, according to a gameplay designer.
- The length suggests a much bigger adventure compared to the original title.
Control Resonant is starting to look like a larger follow-up than some fans may have assumed. The upcoming game is now said to offer at least 30 hours of gameplay for players focusing on the core experience.
Why it matters: Control Resonant launches later this year and is positioned as one of the most exciting games of the year.

According to TechRadar’s interview with Control Resonant gameplay designer Sergey Mohov, the title is being built around a 30-hour length and a combat system with a stronger melee focus than takes inspiration from some of gaming’s classics.
This designer also suggested players have not experienced anything quite like what the new game is attempting. Moreover, it is said that the game will last up to 50 hours for completionists.
In contrast, the original Control lasted up to 30 hours for completionists and around 10 hours for those looking to complete the story. This means that the game likely has a heavier emphasis on side missions, collectibles, challenge areas, secrets, etc.
Remedy also confirms multiple weapons and skill types for the game, although this doesn’t come as too big a surprise for an action game inspired by the likes of Devil May Cry and many others.
Nonetheless, many are excited to see how Remedy’s action gameplay for the series will turn out. So far, Control Resonant looks quite interesting, and many are looking forward to finally playing it for themselves.
Besides Control Resonant, Remedy is currently working on the Max Payne Remakes, which could be the studio’s next big release after this title.
