How the toggle works is that it will disable skins and replace them with in-game Modern Warfare 4 operators for those who select the option. This is a huge deal for the franchise, particularly because Call of Duty has leaned heavily into crossover cosmetics and skins in recent years. However, it remains to be seen if this toggle will eventually make it into Modern Warfare 4 itself. Fans should note that Activision typically starts out each Call of Duty’s lifespan with more grounded skins. These cosmetics then slowly become more over-the-top, with crossovers becoming more frequent toward the end of a game’s lifecycle. Some also believe that this update is a sign the game isn’t doing too well.
