Pros

  • Low latencies
  • Aesthetically pleasing design
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Cons

  • Higher price-tag

The Trident Z5 Royal Neo DDR5-6000 CL28 is G.Skill’s higher-end memory module, and its design clearly shows that thanks to the addition of a mirrored finish, electroplated heat spreaders, and a crystalline lightbar on top. It also achieves extremely low CL28 timings while reaching speeds up to 6000 MHz. The nanosecond latency comes out to only 9.3ns, an extremely low figure for DDR5 modules. You can use our in-house RAM latency calculator tool to measure your DDR5 kit’s latency as well.

Its performance was further highlighted in our dedicated tests, with the G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal Neo DDR5-6000 CL28 gunning ahead of most modules we compared it against. I found that the kit also allows for a decent amount of overclocking, reaching 7200 MHz with the timings adjusted to CL34.

When I tested and reviewed this kit, I was very impressed by the feature set provided:

The G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal Neo DDR5-6000 CL28 is a high-end kit that comes with a lot of performance under the hood. G.Skill has truly gone overboard with this kit. Top-notch performance combined with one of the best-looking lighting effects, this kit has been designed for gamers, designers, and professionals who wonโ€™t settle for anything but the best, of course, given that they can afford its premium pricing.

PRO TIP: Make sure to enable AMD EXPO to take full advantage of the RAM’s performance.
Buy It If

โœ…You prefer unique designs: In my opinion, the G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal Neo DDR5-6000 CL28 makes for the perfect kit for anyone who wants a stand-out design.

G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30

Best Value RAM For Ryzen 9 9950X

Specifications: Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 32GB (2x 16 GB) | Frequency: 6,000MHz | Latency: CL30 | Latency (Nanoseconds): 10 | Voltage: 1.350V | RGB: No

Pros

  • Low Profile design
  • Great value for money

Cons

  • Simple appearance

Given that the G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 is a value-oriented offering, its aesthetics aren’t really a strong suit. There are no RGB elements, and the kit only comes with a black heat spreader. That said, the straightforward design doesn’t bother me at all, especially considering that G.Skill has kept the height very reasonable at only 33mm. I also liked the addition of extra perforations on the right side of the heatsink for better cooling.

Despite the relatively affordable price tag, the module provides solid performance, offering speeds of up to 6000 MHz and a CL30 latency at 1.35V. That translates to exactly 10 nanoseconds, making it a fairly low-latency module. Overclocking is also very possible, and going up to 6200 MHz with a voltage bump shouldn’t necessarily pose any issues.

The RAM’s price-to-performance was a standout for our reviewer, Mussab Ali, who said this during his review:

The G.SKILL Flare X5 DDR5-6000 CL30 is a great choice for PC builders on a budget, especially if youโ€™re working with an AMD setup. Itโ€™s designed for those who want a solid, entry-level build without breaking the bank. If youโ€™re looking to keep costs down while still getting reliable performance, this RAM is a perfect fit.

Buy It If

โœ…You want the best price-to-performance: When it comes to value for money, there aren’t a lot of modules that can compare to the G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz.

โœ…You have a larger CPU Cooler: The kit’s lower-profile design makes it an adequate pair for anyone working with a larger air cooler that provides little RAM clearance.

Don't Buy It If

โŒYou want a better appearance: There’s no denying that the G.Skill FLare X5 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz has a simple design that might not appeal to everyone’s taste.

What Makes It The Best Value RAM For Ryzen 9 9950X?

The G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5 comes in at a reasonable price, without compromising the slightest on the performance side of things, providing a 6000 MHz speed, and a 10ns latency. In addition to that, it also fits into small form factor builds easily thanks to its low profile design, which is why I have crowned it the Best Value RAM For Ryzen 9 9950X.

Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-7200 CL34

Best Performance RAM For Ryzen 9 9950X

Specifications: Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 32GB (2x 16 GB) | Frequency: 7200MHz | Latency: CL34 | Latency (Nanoseconds): 9.44ns | Voltage: 1.450V | RGB: Yes

Pros

  • 7200 MHz Frequency
  • Tight timings
  • Customizable top cover

Cons

  • Height
  • Limited overclocking potential

For enthusiasts who want the best performance possible, I would recommend the Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5. Not only does it keep up with the performance side of things, but it is also one of the better-looking modules I have seen in a while. It comes with a striking aluminum cover as well as sleek RGB lighting that runs across the entirety of the module’s length. Additionally, Corsair has given users the ability to swap out the top RGB cover for a custom one.

Using EXPO, the RAM can operate at a frequency of 7200 MHz while providing CL34 timings at 1.45V. The 9.44ns latency is great to see on higher-end kits, with the RAM showcasing solid results in our dedicated performance tests. We weren’t too impressed by the overclocking potential since the module only reached 7600 MHz, that too with a voltage increase of 1.52V. That said, out-of-the-box performance is already more than enough for most use cases.

Our Senior Hardware Tester, Nauman Siddiuqe, found the kit’s performance to be exceptional. He had this to say about it during his in-depth review:

The kit competes well in performance, though there is limited overclocking headroom. Unique features like RGB lighting effects and the option to switch to a fin assembly design add a distinctive touch. Overall, we recommend this RAM.

Buy It If

โœ…You want high-performing DDR5 RAM: With speeds of up to 7200 MHz and 9.44ns latency, it’s safe to say that I wasn’t disappointed with the Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5’s performance.

โœ…You want a customizable design: The RGB lighting combined with the swappable top cover makes the Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-7200 a lot more customizable than other modules.

Don't Buy It If

โŒYour CPU Cooler doesn’t support tall memory modules: If you are working with a bulkier air cooler, then you might have to skip this module.

โŒYou want better overclocking results: We found that overclocking, while possible, is a bit limited on the Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-7200 CL34.

What Makes It The Best Performance RAM For Ryzen 9 9950X?

The Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-7200 CL34 checks all the boxes of a high-performing kit. Sure, the overclocking potential might not be the best, but you get solid performance out of the EXPO profiles, great cooling capabilities, and a remarkable design, which is why I have deemed it the Best Performance RAM For Ryzen 9 9950X.

WARNING: Make sure to check RAM clearance before purchasing the Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 since larger air coolers can cause installation issues.

Important RAM Terms To Know

I recommend knowing the following terms if you are interested in purchasing a RAM kit for AMD processors:

  • Frequency (MT/s): Measured in MHz, frequency refers to the rate at which data gets transferred from your RAM. A higher frequency would result in better performance.
  • CAS latencyCL Timings or CAS Latency is the time it takes for your RAM to respond to a particular data request.
  • JEDEC Speed: Before enabling EXPO, your memory modules will be running at JEDEC speeds, which typically fall in the range of 4800-5600 MHz.
  • AMD EXPO (Extended Profiles For Overclocking): These are pre-defined overclocking profiles provided by AMD that allow you to get the most performance out of your RAM modules.

How We Tested And Reviewed These Kits

There’s a lot that goes into picking the best RAM for your CPU. Here are the most important factors that I considered when looking for RAM modules for the Ryzen 9 9950X.
