We’re all familiar with Battle.net, whether it’s because of Call of Duty, Overwatch, Crash, Diablo, or any other game. The point is that we’ve all played the games on Battle.net, as it includes fascinating titles, which we all lean towards.
As Steam recently hinted that the next COD title (Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2) would be available on the platform. Following a tweet from the official Call of Duty account showcasing the new reveal teaser, the official Steam account quoted it with the eyes emoji, hinting that a Steam version of the game will be revealed.

Now we have even more exciting news, as new information suggests that other Activision Blizzard titles from Battle.net may also be coming to Steam.
Coming to the point, Battle.Net has been added to the Steam default install package, which indicates that Battle.Net is indeed coming to Steam. It may first be introduced for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, but it does open the door for more Activision Blizzard titles to be added to Steam.
Furthermore, this could be due to Microsoft’s acquisition, which was followed up by Microsoft, indicating that the deal was proceeding quickly. These developments could be a big part of getting Blizzard out of the hole it’s dug for itself and keeping its titles relevant.
Battle.Net will most likely function similarly to how Uplay connects to Steam when you play games like Rainbow Six Siege, where when you launch the game on Steam, it connects through Uplay and launches the game.
It will be very exciting to see other Activision Blizzard titles added to Steam, such as the upcoming Overwatch 2 and other titles. This will also solve an existing problem that users frequently complain about: there are too many launchers, and there should be a single place where users can easily see and launch all of their games.
Another upside could be that Activision Blizzard titles will be included in Steam deals, giving customers additional opportunities to acquire their favorite games at a discounted price.
Finally, as much as we wish to see this unfold, take this news with a grain of salt while steamdb’s battle.net addition could mean that we can expect releases of existing titles and other future releases on Steam. However, the net addition may be solely there to accommodate the future Call of Duty game.
