Baldur’s Gate 3 Becomes 3rd Best Selling Steam Game Ahead of Release

Anticipation For The RPG Continues To Grow!

Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios is one of this year’s most-awaited RPG titles. The game was initially made available in early access and is finally nearing its full launch later this year in August.

Just a month before its release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has entered the top 3 best-selling games on Steam, securing the third spot.

Why it matters: Baldur’s Gate 3 has been available for over a year, but its full release has managed to capture audiences. Ahead of its full release, the recent marketing for the game has encouraged many users to buy the game.

Valve’s Steam Deck has comfortably held the first spot for several days. However, looking at the games on Steam’s best-sellers list, Baldur’s Gate 3 has managed to beat several games for the 3rd spot.

This includes games like Elden Ring and Red Dead Redemption. Both games are extremely popular, with the recent Steam sale leading to an additional boost in popularity. Moreover, this list excludes free-to-play games like CS:GO.

The best-selling game right now is Dave The Diver, with the second position being taken by Battlebit Remasted, a low poly FPS that gained popularity recently, reaching over 87K concurrent Steam players.

Larian Studios’ franchise is set in the universe of Dungeons and Dragons, promising a large-scale RPG game with countless narratives. It will also feature deep character customization, expanding further upon the existing systems in early access.

Moreover, the game’s story mode has been entirely revamped from the early access version and includes rewritten dialogue. It is reported to include over 174 hours of cinematics.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is headed to PC on August 3. The PS5 version is scheduled for September 6, but Xbox users must wait a few more months for the anticipated RPG. The developers are currently struggling to optimize the game for Xbox Series S|X.
