Atlus Reportedly Interested In Persona 1 And 2 Remakes

Multiple Persona Remakes Could Be Made!

Persona has proven to be a successful IP for Atlus, with over 17 million copies sold to date. Building on this success, Atlus has multiple new Persona titles currently in development.

In addition to new titles, Atlus and Sega are looking to create more remakes of older Persona games, as claimed by an insider. According to a new report, Atlus is interested in remaking the first two titles, Persona 1 and 2.

Why it matters: Following Persona 5, the series has surged in popularity. This means that many new fans have never played the older classics. Remakes would allow Atlus to improve these games while reaching newer players.

To add to the excitement, Atlus previously conducted a survey asking fans which games they would like to see remade.

The top two responses were Persona 3 and Persona 2. The combination of fan demand and Atlus’ interest in remaking these games suggests that the first two Persona games will eventually arrive on modern platforms.

Atlus has already announced Persona 3 Reload. Following a trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase, the game was also confirmed to be arriving on Xbox Game Pass at release. Additionally, domain registrations have hinted at multiple Persona 5 spin-off titles.

Therefore, it is clear that Atlus is interested in expanding the IP leading up to the release of Persona 6, which is claimed to be coming out by 2026. However, it is unclear whether Persona 1 and 2 are in development, considering Atlus is already occupied with multiple Persona projects.

The leaker has also claimed that a Persona game featuring characters from the first two entries will be launched next year. It is possible that this game could be one of the remakes of Persona 1 or 2, but that remains to be seen.
