Ratchet & Clank Ranger Rumble Shutdown Set for Nov. 21

Story Highlight
  • Developer Oh BiBi says Ranger Rumble will be delisted on November 21 and its servers will close on May 1, 2027.
  • The title is ending after a limited soft launch, without a full global release.
  • Existing players can continue until May 1, 2027; new downloads end November 21, 2026.

Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble developer Oh BiBi has announced the mobile game will leave the Apple App Store and Google Play on November 21, 2026. The servers stay online for existing players until May 1, 2027, according to the game’s official notice.

When Will Ranger Rumble Shut Down Completely?

Ranger Rumble soft-launched in selected regions but never received a full worldwide release. Oh BiBi says development is ending, with its final planned update rolling out November 6.

Its cancellation underscores the risks of launching a service game in selected territories before committing to a global rollout. The free-to-play arena shooter had a limited soft launch in regions including parts of Europe and North America. Players outside those markets may never have had access.

The decision came before a full worldwide launch, but the existing soft-launch community still has several months before servers close.

Existing users can keep playing current modes and matchmaking until May 1. In-app purchases have already been removed, and the Super Pass is free for the remaining service period.

The result is a setback for this particular mobile experiment, not proof that Sony will abandon mobile games generally.

Once the servers shut down, the game will no longer load, and stored player data will be deleted. Purchases and progress cannot be transferred, making the cutoff a practical preservation concern.

The FAQ explicitly says the cancellation does not affect the rest of the franchise or other PlayStation services.

The official dates are distinct: November 21 is the store delisting, while May 1, 2027 is the permanent server shutdown. Existing players should use or claim remaining in-game currency and rewards before service ends.

Sony has not announced whether Ranger Rumble’s cancellation changes its wider mobile plans.

Ranger Rumble is a small release in the wider PlayStation business, but for players who wanted a portable Ratchet & Clank game, it’s a disappointing and very short-lived one. What do you think Sony should do next with the franchise: another console entry, a proper mobile relaunch, or something else entirely?
