- GTA 6 pre-orders have now risen to 7.71 million units, marking a 1 million increase compared to last month.
- The game is on track to beat Cyberpunk 2077 for the title of the game with the most pre-order sales to date.
- GTA 6 has also made nearly $1 billion in revenue already.
GTA 6 is now just two weeks out from its release, and the game seems to have made nearly $1 billion in revenue already.
Previously, it was reported that the title had secured over 6 million pre-orders. Follow-up reports suggest this figure has seen a substantial increase since last month, bringing the total number of pre-orders up to more than 7 million units.
Why it matters: GTA 6 has to meet the lofty goal of selling 25 million units at launch because of how high expectations have risen recently. With each passing day, the game is nearing that goal.

The latest data comes from Sensor Tower yet again, which reports a total sales count of 7.71 million for the game so far. The firm estimates $750 million in revenue, with the 75/25 sales split for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X staying consistent over last month.
This sales progress is also consistent with more frequent marketing efforts from Rockstar Games. Recently, the team has taken to IPs like South Park, in addition to using real-life locations to promote GTA 6 and releasing a launch trailer for the title.
As it stands, GTA 6 is now on track to become the gaming industry’s most pre-ordered title of all time. This record is currently held by Cyberpunk 2077, which racked up over 8 million pre-orders before its release.
GTA 6 should be able to comfortably beat this figure, but in this case, the lack of a PC release makes the figure all the more impressive compared to CDPR’s RPG from 2020.
Of course, marketing efforts are still ongoing, and because of how popular Grand Theft Auto is as an IP, GTA 6 will likely experience its most significant surge in sales in the coming days.
