- Elden Ring movie has a huge budget, with A24 allocating $200 million for the project.
- It is the company’s most expensive movie of all time, topping Marty Supreme.
- It has an ensemble cast, and the scope appears to be massive based on the budget.
Elden Ring became a global phenomenon when it launched in 2022, becoming one of the most popular soulslike games of all time and winning the GOTY award. To capitalize on the success, the IP is being adapted into a big-budget movie.
In fact, A24, the production behind the Elden Ring movie, is reportedly allocating a massive $200 million to it. For context, this is their highest budget ever, topping Marty Supreme, which cost $70 million.
Why it matters: If done right, the movie has so much potential to be one of the biggest game adaptations of all time. The IP is already huge, and if they can adapt it well, it’s most likely a guaranteed success.

Wall Street Journal reports that A24 has provided the Elden Ring movie with its highest budget ever, at $200 million. This is higher than what FromSoftware spent on the game, but the economics work differently in both industries.
The movie is currently set for a 2028 release, with Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin involved. Some of the cast has also been announced, including stars like Kit Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Nick Offerman, and more.

The story is set in the war-torn Lands Between, following the shattering of the Elden Ring and the conflict over its shards among corrupted demigods. The scope, based on the huge budget, is obviously going to be massive.
