- GTA 6 will rely on public transit to deliver a seamless, fast travel system through the state of Leonida.
- You will be able to fast travel via buses, taxis, and an app like Uber. Trains might also be an option.
- Players can choose to skip travel times or enjoy Vice City’s scenery along the way.
GTA 6’s Netflix extended look was a staggering success, partially because the game has been in development for nearly a decade now. Rockstar has spent this time making sure every little feature adds to the immersion in the fictional, Florida-inspired state of Leonida.
So, players have also been incredibly curious about side activities and the fast travel system that will populate its large open world. YouTuber TGG now reveals that GTA 6 will utilize its organically designed public transit for fast travel.
Why it matters: By using public transport, Rockstar Games ensures GTA 6’s fast travel feels natural to its new open-world experience, instead of feeling out of place like in many other open-world titles.
In a new video, TGG explains his experience with GTA 6 in the hands-off preview two months ago. Rockstar North’s studio co-head Rob Nelson confirmed that the game will rely on public transport to let you fast travel across different places around Leonida.
For example, the mini-map will show different bus stops where you can wait to get on a bus, contrary to previous GTA titles, where you had to catch a bus on the roads. These buses will likely follow specific routes and drop you off at other bus stops around the map.
there’s a few ways that you can fast travel in the game, mainly through things like public transport.
Players can choose to skip the travel times for fast travel or enjoy the scenery along the route for more of a slow-burn experience.
Trains might also be an option to fast travel around Leonida. TGG explains that we can get on them, but he isn’t 100% sure whether they will let us skip the travel time.
Regardless, taxis are another alternative that we can find on the roads. There’s also an app like Uber called ‘RydeMe’ that will let you order a taxi online.

On a side note, the single-player GTA 6 experience won’t have microtransactions, and Rockstar Games has not used any generative AI in the game’s development.
