- A fake GTA 6 download has circulated online after recent evidence of the current leaker having a playable build.
- Testers claim that the 113GB file is mostly empty padding with a small malware payload.
- Everyone is recommended to avoid downloading these files altogether.
Following the latest GTA 6 leaks, it has become clear that the leaker has a playable version of the game. Interestingly, it was even said that he had threatened to release this build, leading to multiple downloads showing up across the internet the very next day.
To nobody’s surprise, however, these downloads are fake and contain malware.
Why it matters: Because GTA 6 has been in development for so long, many are curious enough to take the chance of a malware attack to play a leaked version of the game. Of course, no PC version for the public exists outside of Rockstar’s studios as of today.
The decompiled bytecode literally contains commands to whitelist the entire C: drive in Windows Defender (powershell Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath %SystemDrive%) and kill security software (taskkill -f).

The allegedly playable GTA 6 build is currently being used to lure players into downloading malware.
This download contains a 113GB ISO, but those who have looked into the matter report that the file itself is almost entirely redundant, with a small embedded part containing malware.
As reported by Name on Twitter, the decompiled bytecode also contains commands to kill security software. It goes without saying, but downloading such a file will almost always be a major security hazard, especially for people who don’t know what they’re doing.
As it stands, GTA 6 isn’t coming to PC at launch, and no playable PC build exists for the public.

Elsewhere, the game’s official Netflix preview is now less than one week away, so it may be worth avoiding any potential leaks altogether for the time being.
