- Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is said to run much better in an unauthorized PC build without DRM.
- Reports suggest the game’s cracked version runs at a solid 60FPS for many gamers and takes up fewer resources.
- This is likely happening due to Sony’s PlayStation Network integration and Easy Anti-Cheat.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has received solid reviews across the board, but at launch, the game was publicly criticized for its PC release. Many users suffered from poor performance on the platform, and the game’s DRM-less version may have shown why.
According to reports, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls runs significantly better without anti-cheat and DRM.
Why it matters: In the past, games like Resident Evil 4 have shown just how severe an impact on performance DRM software can have.

Following the arrival of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ pirated build, the game has seen reports of improved performance on social media.
Over on Twitter, one user reported a 20% decrease in CPU usage on an Intel Core i7-6700K, noting that the retail version constantly encrypts and decrypts the title in real-time using 1 CPU core.
Elsewhere, others have noted being able to play at a smooth 60FPS on the cracked build. They say that this was not possible in the beta, highlighting notable performance gains.
The main culprit seems to be the removal of PlayStation Network integration, which has eliminated background processes that hogged up vital resources. Moreover, this version lacks Easy Anti-Cheat, resulting in the performance improvements highlighted by players.

Of course, this build does not support online play, and it can still suffer from stutters every now and then.
Anyhow, because of the current state of the PC port, gamers recommend skipping this version of the Marvel-focused title entirely and sticking with the PS5 version for the time being.
What do you think about the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls controversy? Have you tried the game on PC?
