According to reports, Rockstar has a team as large as 10,000 developers working on the latest iteration of Grand Theft Auto. Moreover, it is said that a large chunk of this team consists of Indian developers.
Why it matters: Unlike China or Korea’s developers, the Indian gaming industry is not the most famous. However, Rockstar’s Indian branch has always played a major role in the success of its titles.
As shared by GTA 6 Countdown, Rockstar currently employs over 6000 developers worldwide. These employees are divided between teams spread out all over the world, including cities like New York, London, and more.
For context, a team like Rockstar North employs as many as 1285 developers, while another team like Rockstar Lincoln employs 910 developers. However, none of these is comparable in size to Rockstar India.
The Indian branch of Rockstar consists of a whopping 1600+ developers, making it the largest contributor to GTA 6. Moreover, other branches of Rockstar likely consist of Indian developers as well, considering the nation’s contribution to the overall global tech industry.
This means that thousands of Indian developers are working on bringing GTA 6 to life. Because GTA 6 is said to be making use of advanced physics, environmental interactions, and more, Rockstar is pulling out all the stops with its latest release.
GTA 6 is scheduled to hit shelves later next year, and more information on the game is expected very soon. In fact, fans are anticipating a full gameplay trailer for the title next.
