Lost Soul Aside has been in development for over a decade now, and so many fans have been awaiting its release.
The game was initially a solo project but was later developed into a team effort, with Sony providing funding. Thanks to the gaming giant, the game is finally releasing this week.
However, ahead of the release, a major problem has caught the fandom’s eye. The game’s performance seems to be extremely poor, and that’s the least of its concerns.
Why it matters: The way Lost Soul Aside looks, it takes skill and years of experience to get the physics and camera angle right.

In a now-removed Reddit post, a user who appears to have received an early copy of the game shared some early performance metrics for the game on the PS5.
The user notes that the game can’t even maintain 20 FPS on the PS5 in Quality mode, which is sure to raise eyebrows.
The FPS drops are brutal, as even in the first fight, the game goes below 20 FPS. Other than that, it has been reported that the facial textures are poor and physics feel weird in cinematics.
The camera angle also seems to be uncomfortable, which disrupts the entire rhythm, and this was also noted in the gameplay videos. Even games like Elden Ring sometimes have camera angle issues, but that is mainly because of the arena.
It is also worth noting that while the performance mode offers a smoother experience, it is nowhere near ideal as it comes with a cost of massive visual downgrade.
The game promised a 4K dynamic experience on PS5 Pro and PC, which now doesn’t seem that plausible.
