Black Flag Remake Is Right Around The Corner!

Story Highlight
  • The Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Steam page has been updated with some new features.
  • This means that the remake of the game is set to release pretty soon.
  • Insiders have revealed that the remake is expected next year, so it could be shadow-dropped at Ubisoft’s Forward.

Assassin’s Creed games used to be perfect back in the day. They were fun to play, and no political agendas were forced on them. One such title in the franchise was Black Flag. A massive fan base loved Assassin’s Creed 4 due to its robust naval gameplay, open world, and, of course, the epic portrayal of the golden age of piracy.

The release of this game’s remake has been rumored for a long time, and fans have been eagerly awaiting Ubisoft’s confirmation of the date. A new Steam update has suggested that it is coming pretty soon.

Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed 4 is considered one of the best titles in he history of the series, so the fandom is pretty excited for its remake

The following are some of the additions made to the Steam page of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag that were not present in the original release:

  • Custom Volume Controls
  • Stereo Sound
  • Surround Sound
  • Mouse Only Option
  • Adjustable Difficulty
  • Save Anytime

These are the types of options that you would usually find in a remaster or a remake of a game, so fans may be in luck. Some reputable insiders have also revealed that the reveal is expected in early 2026, so it would make sense for the company to make the announcement.

However, as the remake is expected early next year, it is worth noting that, according to an insider, the company has prepared an Ubisoft Forward for next year. The company could announce the remake during the forward and shadow drop it on the platforms, just like Xbox did with The Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion remastered.

Fans are a bit skeptical about Ubisoft releasing the remake, as the company has already confirmed that changes will be made to the gameplay. For reference, recent Assassin’s Creed or any Ubisoft game has received a lot of criticism because of its boring gameplay

It is also worth noting that the ship-to-ship combat in Assassin’s Creed 4 is considered significantly better than Skulls and Bones, which was released in 2024. So, if the company makes some tweaks in the former, it may not be for the better.
