Players Say The Game Gets Boring Really Soon!

Story Highlight
  • Players left Assassin’s Creed Shadows midway because they felt burned out.
  • The game suffers from the same open-world fatigue as other recent Ubisoft games.
  • Fans claim the only good parts about the game are the graphics and weather system.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows was hailed as Ubisoft’s savior amid the company’s crisis. While the game sold decently, it hasn’t been able to save the company, which had to partner with Tencent to stay afloat.

Despite Ubisoft’s claim to fix many things with the franchise, most fans claim they stopped playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows because it burned them out.

Why it matters: Burnout has become a common problem with Ubisoft games, mainly because of the open-world fatigue. The games feel repetitive and boring, leading to a loss of interest.

Fans say Shadows gets boring quickly

In a NeoGAF thread, fans were asked if they’d finished Shadows, two months after its launch. Most fans stated that while they were impressed by the opening few hours, the game became boring after that.

Most players praised the excellent visuals and weather system, but said the characters and story were hugely underwhelming. The story became so repetitive that it became boring and had nothing much to offer.

Players claim they gave up on Assassin’s Creed Shadows because they were burned out.

Unfortunately, this has been the case with Ubisoft’s game, especially the Assassin’s Creed franchise, since they moved towards the RPG genre. Fans haven’t taken the recent games too well and still consider older ones the peak of the franchise.

Due to this, Ubisoft has faced all sorts of troubles. Recently, the company revealed that it has also delayed its major upcoming releases to focus on quality. Its stocks also fell even further after the latest financial report.
