9 Million Reasons to Love Resident Evil 4 Remake!

Story Highlight
  • The Resident Evil 4 remake has sold over 9 million copies worldwide across all platforms.
  • The entry had already rolled up to 8 million sales by October last year, as it continues to sell swiftly.
  • The current trajectory suggests the game will reach over 10 million sales in a few more months.

The Resident Evil franchise is usually credited for contributing to one of the most influential genres in gaming. However, its first few games were the ones that captured the most spotlight—not that the recent releases have been poor by any means. So, the studio has completely capitalized on it by releasing a bunch of remakes over the years.

Now, Capcom’s recent magnum opus, the Resident Evil 4 remake, has sold over 9 million copies worldwide across all platforms.

Why it matters: The RE4 remake continuing to sell in the millions two years after release suggests the remake venture was highly successful for Capcom in terms of player and sales reception.

One of the official Capcom Twitter accounts, Capcom Dev 1, took to Twitter to thank the loyal fans who helped the Resident Evil 4 remake to break through the 9 million mark. The post also features stunning fan art showcasing some of the characters in the RE4 remake.

To put things into perspective, RE4 Remake had already sold up to 8 million copies around the globe by October 19 last year. So, the numbers have continued to add up through the winter and holiday period.

All in all, the Resident Evil 4 remake sales will soon hit the 10 million mark if the current pace is anything to go by. Regardless, Capcom is currently busy brewing Resident Evil 9, which is said to be targeting the FY26 release window.
