Black Ops 6 Takes The First Spot!

Story Highlight
  • Indiana Jones launched to a really positive reception from the fans.
  • Recently, an analyst has revealed that it was the second best-selling game in its launch week, trailing behind Black Ops 6.
  • A rumor has suggested that more Indiana Jones games are in development.

While Indiana Jones and The Great Circle had a lot of positive impressions due to previews, its hype remained subpar. The game’s launch on Steam was quite underwhelming, but it was quite popular on the Game Pass

Also, the game seems to have sold quite well in its launch week in the US. It was the second best-selling game, just behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Why it matters: Despite a lot of concerns regarding the game being in first-person, it seems to have performed well sales-wise.

Mat Piscatella, a famous industry analyst and Executive Director at Circana Retail Tracking Service, reveals that Indiana Jones was the second best-selling in the US in its launch week.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was the #2 best-selling video game for week ending Dec 14th in US dollar sales, trailing only Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

He usually doesn’t do weekly rankings, but the fact that Indiana Jones is the second best-selling game seems to have piqued his interest. Piscatella also revealed Astro Bot went from number 11 to 7, possibly due to it winning the Game of the Year 2024 award.

It is pretty impressive that Indiana Jones secured the second spot, but MachineGames has not revealed any sales figures yet, highlighting that the sales aren’t that good. Regardless, a reliable insider recently revealed that more Indiana Jones games are being developed.

Given how positive the reception is from the latest one, it isn’t that surprising. MachineGames is also working on some unannounced projects, so we are likely to hear more about the upcoming titles from this developer soon.
