FTC Leaks Teased An Oblivion Remaster For 2024!

Story Highlight
  • The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake is seemingly in the works, as teased by a popular industry insider.
  • The remake is possibly planned to launch next year, but an exact release window remains unconfirmed.
  • Past rumors from the FTC doc leak pointed to an Oblivion remaster for 2024, further solidifying these claims.

The last decade in the gaming scene has seen a huge rise in remakes and remasters—which some argue has siphoned the innovation out of major studios.

However, Elder Scrolls is arguably the one IP that has not received enough of the remake treatment, forcing fans to come out with their own projects. This might change pretty soon, as The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake now might be in the works.

A popular industry insider clarifies that the Oblivion Remake is real and might be coming sooner than we think. The studio behind the project is allegedly preparing for an official announcement.

Why it matters: The new rumor mill affirms the past findings from the FTC doc leak that teased an Oblivion remaster meant to launch in 2024. It might have become a remake during mid-development.

In a new video detailing a bunch of ongoing rumors, EXtas1s claims that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake is certainly in the works. He thinks official info regarding the project will likely be dropped during the rumored Xbox Developer Direct event this coming January.

The Oblivion Remake is expected to launch next year, but there is no release window to go along with it. However, past rumors from the FTC doc leak talked about an Oblivion remaster, which was supposed to drop in 2024.

The FTC leak also revealed that Virtuos was brewing the remaster using Unreal Engine 5. This project might have changed into a full-fledged remake sometime during mid-development.

The Elder Scrolls 6
Bethesda is also working on the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls 6, which won’t launch until at least 2026.

All in all, it is best to take the new rumor mill with a pinch of salt, as Bethesda—nor the supposed developer—has confirmed or denied these claims.

Do you think the Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake will launch next year, or is it just another unfounded rumor based on past leaks? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.
