- An accredited insider has teased plans for Xbox to hold a new Developer Direct event next month.
- Xbox is known for having Developer Direct shows every January, revealing gameplays of its various upcoming titles.
- The conglomerate has yet to confirm or deny these rumors officially.
After suffering through a slew of controversies and flops over the last two years, things are finally looking a bit better for Xbox. The company has slowly been securing a strong portfolio of games that have only recently been announced, which have intrigued many fans. Not much about these titles is known—except for entries like Avowed. However, that might be changing pretty soon.
Industry insider Tom Warren has teased that Xbox is planning to hold a new event in January, where it would showcase many of its titles.
Why it matters: Xbox has quite a powerful portfolio in the works, some of which we saw during the TGA show. Revealing the gameplay of those new titles might further win fans over.
In a new post on the social media platform Bluesky, Tom claims that a new Xbox event is pretty much expected in January 2025. Gameplay for titles like Avowed, South of Midnight, Fable, and Outer Worlds 2 is expected.
Fans have also mostly agreed with the insider, as another Developer Direct makes a lot of sense given Xbox’s past events in January. However, titles like Fable might be too big to appear.
It is worth noting that the hints dropped by the insider might prove to be a nothing burger in the future, as Xbox has not announced a Developer Direct event so far. So, do take these tidbits with a grain of salt.
Do you think the new Xbox Developer Direct event will feature gameplay for these rumored titles, or do we have to wait further for it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.
