The Wait For Half-Life 3 Announcement Might End Soon!

Story Highlight
  • Valve is rumored to announce the much-anticipated Half-Life 3 at TGA 2024.
  • Gabe could be present at the show himself to announce the sequel after 20 years.
  • This is strictly a rumor for now, so take it with a grain of salt.

Half-Life 3 rumors have been circulating on the internet for a few months. Half-Life 2 was released in 2004, marking 20 years since the last mainline entry in the franchise. However, a new rumor points toward a Half-Life 3 announcement at The Game Awards Tonight.

Why it matters: Fans have been patiently waiting for Valve to finally make a move and announce something regarding a new Half-Life game. It seems like today could be the ideal time for it.

Former Apple employee teases Half-Life 3 at TGA

A former Apple Employee, Nima Zeighmai, took to X to state that he had heard that Valve might announce Half-Life 3 at TGA. He says he heard it directly from someone who is very well-connected with the gaming industry.

He further stated that he was told Gabe would personally be there to announce the sequel. However, the source isn’t someone who directly works at Valve, so he is cryptic about the news and cautions others, too.

It’s been 20 years since the last Half-Life game released

Various high-profile industry insiders and journalists have hyped this year’s TGA to be full of surprises. While the Half-Life 3 announcement might be a little far-fetched, considering that Half-Life 2 recently got a new life, this could be the perfect announcement time.

But, again, take this news with a grain of salt. We will find out in a few hours if the game is indeed planned for an announcement. Nonetheless, TGA seems to be a festive affair this year, and we can’t wait for it.
