Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 was released recently and has already become the 10th biggest Steam launch of 2024, making it one of the most successful releases in the franchise.

Following the massive success of the title, the developers have also confirmed plans for future DLCs and a possible sequel. 

Why it matters: The developers are really satisfied with the success of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and are looking for ways to explore the franchise further. 

During a recent interview with IGN, Saber Interactive Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits discussed the success of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and stated that the team is already planning its DLC. 

Our game director Dmitry Grigorenko, he has proposed some story ideas that could either be DLC or a sequel.

He further stated that the developers are catching their breath at the moment, as the game has only been out for two weeks. While the developers have massive plans for its future, they just need to let the dust settle.

The Chief Creative Officer has also promised the franchise’s fans that he won’t disappoint them with future updates and has plans to release updates for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 for a really long time. 

When talking about the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3, Willits says that they would just love to work on it, but they have some things to figure out before that. So, a sequel seems imminent now. 

It’s great to see the massive success of the recent title in the franchise. It’s still one of the best-selling titles on Steam and continues to shine, as the developers aimed to capture old-school gaming, which major publishers lack now.
