- Ubisoft just showed uncut gameplay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
- This footage highlights the distinctions between the two main characters.
- It also focuses on various classic elements of the franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has received two major trailers so far. Last month, the game was officially announced with an incredibly stylish cinematic trailer. Yesterday, Ubisoft also showed several glimpses of the actual gameplay at the Xbox Games Showcase.
However, the day fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. The studio has finally shared uncut gameplay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows at Ubisoft Forward 2024.
Why it matters: Since this setting has been requested for many years and new titles like Ghost of Tsushima have already satisfied fans of the Japanese setting, Ubisoft had a lot to prove coming into the showcase.
Ubisoft’s latest showcase highlights about 10 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows footage.
It shows both Yasuke and Naoe in action. Expanding on yesterday’s trailer, Ubisoft shows how Naoe is more akin to the traditional assassin. She can make use of the environment for traversal, hide in the shadows, and use her agility to take out the enemies.
On the other hand, Yasuke can overpower foes with his sheer strength. He makes use of heavy weapons, filling in the role of Ubisoft’s samurai. Both characters are very different but complement each other well.
The open world of Japan also gets to be in the spotlight. Ubisoft highlights tall structures to climb, foliage to hide in, and densely populated streets to explore. All in all, the Japanese setting seems to have received a lot of attention.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows seems to be quite promising so far. While the game will inevitably draw comparisons to Ghost of Tsushima and other Japanese-era offerings, Ubisoft seems to be quite confident in its work.
Fans also appear to be enjoying the gameplay, with many praising this showcase.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows arrives on November 15. Ubisoft is said to be looking at quite strong pre-order figures for the entry, potentially marking a new era of prosperity for this IP.
