Take-Two recently narrowed down GTA 6’s release window to Fall 2025, putting an end to rumors suggesting a delay to 2026. Take-Two is very confident in Rockstar Games and believes they will deliver on schedule.

Now, the publisher has once again expressed their confidence in Rockstar Games. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, recently stated that GTA 6 will be an experience unlike anything seen before.

Why it matters: GTA 6 is undoubtedly the most anticipated title in the gaming industry right now. Given the game’s immense popularity, fans have high expectations for the upcoming release.

During the interview, Zelnick stated that Rockstar Games is striving for perfection.  The CEO has made a similar comment in the past, but he noted that perfection is difficult to measure and is more subjective than objective.

It’s about creating an experience that nobody’s seen before.

When asked about his confidence in the Fall 2025 release window for GTA 6, Zelnick acknowledged that the industry experiences delays and they are not immune to them.

However, he emphasized that they narrowed down the timing because they were highly confident in meeting it. Interestingly, the CEO also hinted at an internal delay during the interview.

Considering previous rumors, it seems GTA 6 was indeed internally delayed from an early 2025 launch to late 2025. Since Rockstar Games is striving for perfection, and they rarely compromise on delivering a polished game, an internal delay makes perfect sense for them.

On the subject of delays, the CEO noted that many factors can be used to measure when a game is ready. However, for a release of GTA 6’s scale, it comes down to the developers and their vision.

Therefore, Take-Two will not hesitate to delay the game again if need be.

Strauss Zelnick confirmed that Take-Two and Rockstar Games are both aware of the extraordinary expectations from GTA 6. Each developer is keeping this in mind as they work toward what could be this industry’s biggest release to date.

While fans remain anxious to learn more about the project, Rockstar Games developers have simply asked audiences to ‘let them cook.’
