G.Skill Unveils 8th Annual OC World Cup 2024 With $40K Prize Pool

[Press Release] G.Skill is returning with the 8th annual OC World Cup 2024 competition.

Pitting the most skilled overclockers against each other, this championship will span four months, with the highly competitive Online Qualifiers beginning on 1st March on hwbot.org.

This phase of the competition will run for a month.

Following the results, the top 9 finalists will be picked for an on-stage competition at Computex 2024. Competitors will gather at the G.Skill booth in the Nangang Exhibition Hall to showcase their skills in front of a massive crowd.

Finally, the top 3 competitors will face off on 7th June for the ultimate prize of $10,000. With a prize pool of $40,000, every competitor within the top 9 will finish with a cash prize. The prize breakdown is as follows.

  • 1st place – $10K
  • 2nd place – $6.5K
  • 3rd place – $5K
  • 4th place – $4.2K
  • 5th place – $3.4K
  • 6th place – $3K
  • 7th place – $2.8K
  • 8th place – $2.6K
  • 9th place – $2.5K

For the top prize, each participant will be required to run through DDR5 Memory Frequency, PYPrime 32B, 7-ZIP, and SuperPi-32M benchmarks. A full breakdown of the rules can be found here.

Apart from the cash prize, each top 9 finisher will be given a DDR5-8000 48GB(2x24GB) kit. Similarly, three random competitors from the first phase will be picked to receive a DDR5-7600 32GB(2x16GB).
