- Ubisoft is reportedly set to re-reveal Beyond Good and Evil 2 under a brand new name.
- The game will be shown at a big event later this year, most likely The Game Awards 2026.
- It is also expected to have a Switch 2 port, as Ubisoft is using an extremely scalable engine.
Ubisoft has cancelled dozens of games over the last decade alone, and the latest resizing initiative left multiple studios gutted and more anticipated titles canned for good. Surprisingly, the infamous Beyond Good and Evil 2 has survived all these purges so far.
In fact, the latest report suggests that the sequel is finally making steady progress at Ubisoft.
The company is reportedly set to re-announce Beyond Good and Evil 2 under a new name, which makes sense, as it has supposedly undergone a lot of rework and changes since the 2018 announcement.
Why it matters: Beyond Good and Evil 2 has consumed a staggering amount of resources and development time, but the project could still be a stellar hit if all the rework done on it pays off.
This report comes via Attack The Backlog, with the host revealing all the tidbits popular Nintendo insider Nash Weedle shared with him in a podcast.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 has seen a myriad of changes over the last few years of development, so it could be a whole different game than we remember.
[Nash Weedle] has said that the game has a brand new title, but he’s not sharing it. He has been told that there has been many, many changes made to this game since we saw it a thousand years ago.-Attack The Backlog.
Nash claims that Ubisoft will bring the title to the limelight in one of the big events later this year, with The Game Awards 2026 being the most expected option.

The insider’s sources also told him that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is being developed on the extremely scalable Voyager engine.
While he isn’t confirming a Switch 2 port, the revelation is basically a ‘wink wink’ moment, so we might see the game on the handheld at some point. However, it’s best to take these tidbits with a grain of salt until an official confirmation by Ubisoft.
