Elden Ring Shadow of The Erdtree DLC Allegedly Set For Feb 2024 Release

Trailer Expected At Game Awards On 7 December!

Many great games were released last year, but Elden Ring had the most impressive run as it ended up winning the Game of The Year award while beating the likes of God of War Ragnarok.

Following the tremendous success of the title, FromSoftware confirmed long-term support for the game and announced the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Eight months after the expansion’s announcement, a leak claims it will be released in February next year.

Why it matters: FromSoftware has rarely disappointed with its DLC releases. These expansions add new content to the game and often exceed the quality of the base game.

This leak comes from Ziostorm, who has been posting about Elden Ring and other FromSoftware games for a while now and has a YouTube channel with over 100k subscribers.

According to his sources, FromSoftware plans to highlight the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC at The Game Awards 2023. He believes this event will confirm the DLC’s release date.

The leak claims Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on 5 February 2024, marking the biggest gap between a game’s DLC release for the studio.

Elden Ring

Recently, Geoff Keighley, host of The Game Awards, visited FromSoftware in Japan, hinting at the studio’s appearance at his event. Last year, FromSoftware also announced Armored Core 6 at the event, providing further evidence for a return in 2023.

This is exciting news for the fans. We believe FromSoftware has become one of the industry’s most efficient teams. If the leak is to be believed, the developer’s next release will arrive just six months after Armored Core 6, further highlighting this efficiency.

We are also looking forward to the DLC since FromSoftware already set a high bar for open-world gameplay last year, and it will be interesting to see if the studio brings any new ideas to expand upon it with Shadow of the Erdtree.

Meanwhile, those on the fence about Elden Ring can pick it up on sale for a 35% discount on Steam right now. This discount also allowed the game to climb to the top of the best-sellers list briefly, showing its lasting appeal.
