Starfield Boss Has Reassured Fans Amid Poor Marketing Concerns

"We Know What We're Doing!"

With Starfield shaping up to be the biggest release of next month, fans are curious to learn more about the game. However, Bethesda Game Studios has not shared much since the Starfield Direct in June.

Recently, one fan took to Twitter, asking Pete Hines from Bethesda to reveal more information about Starfield. The fan was concerned that Starfield would follow in Cyberpunk 2077’s footsteps with poor marketing.

However, Pete Hines quickly told him to stay calm, claiming that Bethesda Game Studios had everything under control.

Why it matters: Starfield has the potential to be a massive contender for Game of The Year in 2023. It is also the biggest first-party release for Xbox in several years.

Microsoft and Bethesda have partnered with various companies to promote Starfield, including different merchandise like headsets, controllers, and more for the game.

The Twitter user pointed to this merchandise, claiming that Bethesda should reveal more meaningful information instead of promoting these collaborations weeks before the game’s release.

The fan then compared the marketing with Cyberpunk 2077, potentially hinting at poor implications for the launch. Nonetheless, Pete Hines replied:

“Take a deep breath. I have an amazing team. We know what we’re doing.”

Bethesda Game Studios has spent years to ensure that Starfield lives up to expectations. It appears the studio is confident in the game, with the developers following an already established plan for marketing.

While some may consider the marketing lacking, Xbox and Bethesda have begun various promotions for the RPG. Starfield will be part of a theatre presentation at Gamescom.

Additionally, the studio has released a series of animated shorts recently, introducing the universe and characters of the RPG. Microsoft is also rumored to be planning an interactive launch event for the game.

All of these measures and more should ensure Starfield gets the attention it deserves.

Currently, Starfield has already reached the top of Steam’s best-sellers charts. Therefore, fans have little reason to worry, as Microsoft and Bethesda are more than likely making sure that no mistakes are made in the marketing campaign.
