Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Dev Apologizes For Poor PC Port 4 Months After Release

Better Late Than Never!

Even before its release, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty received criticism for poor PC performance during a demo build. The demo was extremely disappointing for many PC users as the game suffered from issues like stuttering.

Despite many PC gamers using hardware like the Intel Core i9 13900K/RTX 4090, the game struggled to reach a consistent 60FPS. These issues also carried over to the launch build of the game in March.

Following Team Ninja’s contribution to the poor PC ports of 2023, the developer issued an apology four months after the release of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

Why it matters: PC players are still facing issues even after four months. This is also reflected in the game’s Steam ratings, with less than half of the overall reviews being positive.

During a recent update, Masakazu Hirayama from Team Ninja said:

“We apologize for the inconvenience caused to everyone playing the PC version of Wo Long since its release.”

“I can assure you that we have placed top priority on optimization and bug fixes.”

Hirayama has clarified that fixing the PC port is Team Ninja’s top priority.

However, it will not be an easy task due to the numerous hardware combinations of the platform. He mentioned that the studio is monitoring all the reports, hoping to replicate issues to fix them.

The Director has also thanked the fans for their dedication, reiterating the studio’s commitment to fixing the game. In addition to the promises, he has requested players to continue sending feedback on any future issues.

Given the number of issues in the PC version of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, it would not be surprising if it took a few months for the studio to completely fix the game. However, the recent announcement has already confirmed support till December 2023.

This includes content like new enemies, missions, and stories through paid DLC. In addition to paid content, the game will receive free updates, providing hope for a polished PC port by the end of the year.
