Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way since its release. At release, the game received criticism for uncountable bugs, a poor last-gen console port, and disappointing the industry after several promises.

However, CD Projekt Red continued to work on the game. Following various updates and an incredible anime adaptation, Cyberpunk 2077 began to see a resurgence with returning and new players.

It also reached the top of Steam’s best-sellers charts on various occasions. Following these improvements, the game has reached a new milestone. Cyberpunk 2077 is now rated very positive on Steam, with 80% of the reviews being in the game’s favor.

Why it matters: CD Projekt Red spent countless months tweaking the game. Despite a disappointing release, the developer will likely be glad that the game is finally getting a lot of praise.

Currently, the game is much closer to the promises made before launch, which is a major reason for the improved reception. Looking at Steam, Cyberpunk 2077 has over 546K reviews on the platform.

These reviews were not very pleasant after launch, but this is no longer the case. 80% of the reviews are positive, and over 85% of all reviews from the last 30 days are positive.

CD Projekt Red has also announced a new expansion, bringing Idris Elba to the game. However, the Phantom Liberty expansion continues the studio’s goal to improve the massive RPG.

Phantom Liberty is bringing massive overhauls to various gameplay systems. CD Projekt Red is reworking the game’s AI and progression systems, updating nearly every major part of the game.

This will ensure that new and existing players experience the best version of Cyberpunk 2077 when they return or buy the game with the Phantom Liberty expansion.

While the game failed to impress fans at launch, a CD Projekt Red developer recently claimed that the launch state of Cyberpunk 2077 was not that bad, and it became cool to hate the game.

Nonetheless, the massive improvement in the game is undeniable, and the developers who spent countless hours working on the game will be glad to know that it is finally close to their vision for the massive RPG.
