According to the latest information, the upcoming 16GB variant of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will hit the shelves this month.
The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB is scheduled to be available for sale starting 18th July. The date mentioned in the manifest only provides information on the availability of the graphics card, and details regarding its review embargo are yet to be confirmed.
Like other graphics cards from the RTX 4000 lineup, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB received a rather cold response from the gaming community. However, it is not surprising since the GPU offers only 8GB of memory for a $399 price tag.
On the other hand, the upcoming graphics card will offer double the memory size at 16GB. However, it also bumps the price tag to $500. Furthermore, Nvidia seems to be confident with its pricing scheme for now.
Nvidia has shown no signs of adjusting the price of the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. Still, GPU buyers might see a 5-10% discount after launch, like other mid to high-range graphics cards on the market.
Nvidia also appears to be the only manufacturer dominating the market for mid to high-end graphics cards at the moment, with no response from both Intel and AMD. This has led to unimpressive prices from the company.
Unlike its 8GB variant, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB will only be available through custom board partners. Nvidia’s road map also reveals that the green team has no plans to launch a new generation of cards next year.
PC gamers are likely stuck with the current GeForce RTX 4000 series cards, with only the GeForce RTX 4050 left to target the budget market. Nvidia may also release a GeForce RTX 4090 Ti for the high-end market.
The graphics card market is in a rough spot with underwhelming options from both Nvidia and AMD. The cost of buying a graphics card has dramatically increased since the current generation launched.
This is likely why no one is rushing to get a new graphics card right now. Still, Nvidia and AMD might offer better options with a much better price-to-performance ratio and more memory with the next generation.
