During Apple’s WWDC Event 2023, which kicked off June 5 through June 9. Apple announced the launch of its reality headset, the Vision Pro, and other hardware, such as Apple’s new top-of-the-line M2 Ultra chip for the Mac Pro.
Apple made its first Chip M1, so they don’t have to rely on chips from AMD or Intel. The M1 chip had an Arm architecture that was more powerful and efficient than the Intel or AMD chips, and now, Apple’s new M2 ultra chip competes with Intel And AMD CPUs and even surpasses them in some benchmarking tools.
Mac Studio with M2 Ultra appeared in Geekbench 5 tests with 1,956 points in single-core and 27,945 points in multicore. Compared to the result where M1 ultra chip single core reaches 1,799 points in single and 23,798 points in multicore, it is 18% faster than the M1 ultra chip.
The multicore tests Indicate that the Core i9-13900k loses in multicore performance as it scores 29371 in the multicore score, which is slightly lower than the M2 chip. Of course, implementing single core i9-13900k is superior by 20% practically.
The M2 Ultra Chip is also 12% faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X in Geekbench 5. We see a similar situation, although this one has a disadvantage with its 16 cores. As we can see, the score in the multicore of the Ryzen 9 is 24778, which is 10% lower than the Mac with Apple M2 Ultra result.
Apple M2 Ultra top-of-the-range SoC continues to use TSMC’s 5nm, and Apple has already decided it will give life to its first Mac Pro that replaces the Intel CPU with the M2 Ultra. This powerful system is accompanied by a GPU of up to 76 cores, 192 GB of unified RAM, and an SSD of up to 8 TB.
