After nearly two decades since Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was released, Konami has finally announced a remake.

The game was revealed during the PlayStation showcase, and Konami has a little more for fans. The devs have also confirmed the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, which is also making its way to PlayStation 5 in Fall 2023.

Why it matters: The remake had been rumored and talked about for many months prior to the PlayStation showcase, and fans will undoubtedly be excited about the game.

 

Though Konami has not revealed much about the remake and the release date, fans can rest assured that the game is coming.

As expected, it will be released on all platforms. This means that Xbox and PC users will not miss out. Many had previously expected Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake to release as a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake

The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 1 will include the Metal Gear Solid trilogy and will be coming out in Autumn 2023. This should get fans ready for the remake. According to Konami, it will allow players to experience the games as they were originally released.

With the entire trilogy coming to modern platforms and a remake now announced, the Metal Gear Solid franchise has returned to the spotlight. It remains to be seen if the remake will live up to expectations, but the trilogy should be a nice throwback for new and returning fans in the meantime.
