Hogwarts Legacy delivered the best modern video game rendition of the Harry Potter franchise a few months ago. The game provided engaging gameplay, exceptional visuals, and a captivating story.
Following the game’s success, it is possible that a sequel is already in development.
Why it matters: Hogwarts Legacy has been an incredible success, selling twice as many copies as expected, making around $850 million in just two days. It also entered the top 10 Steam games with 700K concurrent players, and a sequel would likely enjoy similar success.
Gamerant noticed that Avalanche Software, the developer of Hogwarts Legacy, is looking for a software engineer to join the team. The job listing states:
“Join Our Talented Team Working On An Unannounced AAA Console Title.”
While the listing does not directly point to a Hogwarts Legacy sequel, it would make a lot of sense for Avalanche Software to revisit the franchise after the record-breaking success of the first game.
Going by the reception, fans would also love a new adventure in the Hogwarts Legacy universe. This may have encouraged the developer to begin work on a second game immediately.
The developer previously stated that no DLC was planned for Hogwarts Legacy, so the studio may focus on the sequel rather than making content for DLC.
After releasing the latest Harry Potter game, Avalanche Software has proven itself as a talented studio. As such, a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy could take the franchise one step further, exceeding expectations yet again.
What changes would you want in a Hogwarts Legacy sequel? Do you think the sequel can be better than the first games?
