Capcom has provided another sales update on the highly popular Resident Evil 4 Remake. The remake of the genre-defining action-horror game previously sold over 3 million copies in just two days, becoming the second-best launch for the franchise.

While this sales figure is already impressive, it would not be surprising to see the game going even further.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is currently the third best-selling game on Steam. Following its launch, the game has consistently stayed at the top of Steam best-sellers, indicating the excitement surrounding the franchise.

Much of the game’s success and positive reception has been attributed to its respect for the original game, which has become an iconic release for the Resident Evil franchise. Capcom’s subtle changes to certain mechanics also appear to have helped the game stand out as one of the best remakes from the developer.

The free Mercenaries DLC is also available now for players worldwide. This mode allows players to face hordes of enemies as they aim for the best score possible.

Capcom has previously announced a VR experience for Resident Evil 4 Remake. This will allow players to completely immerse themselves in the terrifying and atmospheric world of Resident Evil 4.

Players who have not purchased the game yet can also try the free Chainsaw Demo available across all platforms.
