Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora To Feature Online Co-op

Online Co-Op, Season Pass, and Currency Packs!

Ubisoft is currently working on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, based on the critically acclaimed series of Avatar movies by James Cameron. The first movie was released over a decade ago, and the recent sequel has brought the franchise back into attention.

Massive Entertainment is leading development on the project, describing it as an AAAA title. Players will take on the role of a Na’vi in a first-person perspective, using the distinct abilities and combat tactics featured in the franchise.

While additional information on the game has not been officially released, a leaker has confirmed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will feature online co-op elements.

Ubisoft is familiar with online co-op mechanics, with franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry utilizing them in the past. However, the upcoming title appears to be similar to previous Ubisoft games in more ways than one.

The report claims that Ubisoft will continue the trend of microtransactions with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. These microtransactions include a season pass, welcome pass, and currency packs.

It remains to be seen if the microtransactions will prove to be a hindrance in single-player gameplay, but fans can expect the French developer to utilize a similar add-on model seen in recent Assassin’s Creed games.

The same leaker previously revealed a plethora of new details about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. In addition to a few screenshots, he revealed that the game would feature crafting, character customization, and skill upgrades.

The game features traditional human weapons like Assault Rifles and Shotguns, while Na’Vi weapons like bows and arrows are also included. This should ensure fans can play the game according to their preferences.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does not have an exact release date beyond the previously revealed 2023 window. However, fans can expect to learn more about the highly anticipated title at Ubisoft Forward on June 12.

What are your thoughts on the online co-op and currency packs? Let’s discuss this in the comments below.
