Resident Evil 4 Remake Receives Criticism For Poor PC Performance

PC Users Are Not Happy With Denuvo!

Resident Evil 4 Remake has impressed critics and audiences worldwide with its excellent revival of the classic survival horror title. Following its release, the game quickly reached third on the list of best-rated games from 2023 on Metacritic.

The game has also sold well on Steam, becoming the best release for the franchise. With over 100K peak concurrent players, Resident Evil 4 Remake has left a large margin behind recent releases like Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Despite the universal praise for the game, some Steam users are facing problems with Capcom’s latest survival horror offering. The Steam reviews show users complaining about poor performance and constant crashing on PC.

Many have also blamed the infamous Denuvo DRM for these persistent problems.

Recent releases for the PC platform have been worrying. With games like Hogwarts Legacy, The Callisto Protocol, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, fans have many reasons to complain.

Despite the recent trend, many had high expectations for Resident Evil 4 Remake. However, it seems like the game has not lived up to the standards of PC players. Many players claim that the full release is running worse than the recent demo, likely due to the addition of Denuvo.

Users with capable hardware, like recent Intel processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics cards, have reported similar problems. As reported in the reviews, the ray tracing implementation also appears to have its share of issues, leading to constant crashing.

Previously, Resident Evil Village showed a notable boost to performance after removing Denuvo, and the same might happen with Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Despite its problems, many players are still enjoying the critically acclaimed remake. However, it might be best for Capcom to look into the matter before these issues become more common across the PC platform.
