Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will take to stage with an Nvidia keynote on March 21 at GTC 2023, with the latest graphics card in the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 line-up expected to be revealed soon. 

Currently, the line-up consists of three GPUs, starting at $800. However, most PC gamers are limited to the mid-range and budget segment of the market. The GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to show up at the keynote, and a new listing from Gigabyte reveals more information ahead of the reveal. 

According to a listing spotted by Videocardz, the GeForce RTX 4070 will come with 10GB, 12GB, and 16GB VRAM variants.

Last generation, Nvidia’s mid-range offered limited VRAM capacities at 8GB for multiple graphics cards like the RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, and RTX 3070 Ti. This was a handicap in certain situations, especially at higher resolutions like 1440p. 

While the RTX 4070 Ti already packs 12GB VRAM, multiple offerings would allow Nvidia to offer the upcoming graphics card at various prices. This would also mean that Nvidia will repeat a similar scenario from the last generation, where a weaker graphics card provides more VRAM capacity than its superior counterpart.

Memory requirements have also gone up in recent years. Latest games like Hogwarts Legacy can be a challenge for 8GB GPUs like the RTX 3060 Ti when ray tracing is used, even at lower resolutions.

Offering more VRAM at a lower budget would go a long way to help PC users run current and upcoming games more comfortably.

For now, the RTX 4070 is rumored to offer a cutdown version of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti at 5,888 CUDA Cores and is expected to launch in April, following the upcoming Nvidia keynote at GTC 2023.
