Expect Another State of Play Next Month!

Story Highlight
  • An insider suggests that rumors about a potential PlayStation Showcase might not be true.
  • PlayStation might be gearing up to host another State of Play next month.
  • It is said that more information should be coming soon.

PlayStation has yet to host a big showcase this year. Instead, the gaming giant has continued to present various State of Plays, offering new looks at games like Death Stranding 2, Silent Hill 2, and more.

The last State of Play, held in May, was considered one of the weakest to date. However, with this event behind us, the industry is looking forward to seeing what Sony will do next. Following earlier teases from an insider, it seems information on the next event is coming soon.

Why it matters: PlayStation has been unable to meet expectations with its recent events. While a few State of Plays have been decent here and there, the gaming giant has let fans down more often than not.

Fans Always Have High Hopes For PlayStation’s Showcases

Rumors about a PlayStation Showcase have been floating around for several months. With September right around the corner, a fairly reliable insider has provided more insight on the next event.

According to Lunatic Ignus, the gaming giant may not host a PlayStation Showcase. Replying to a tweet, he suggests that people should take current rumors with a grain of salt.

I suggest everyone to not trust leaks about the supposedly PlayStation Showcase.

However, he also states that something is certainly in the works. The leaker believes other insiders will soon have more to share. At the very least, all signs point toward a State of Play.

More Information On PlayStation’s Next Event Is Likely To Arrive Soon

What’s interesting is that rumors point to 2025 being a major year for Sony’s gaming division. As such, PlayStation could choose to host a showcase at some point next year.

Whatever the case may be, fans should certainly expect to learn more soon. PlayStation is also expected to launch the PS5 Pro later this year, so it will be interesting to see the gaming giant’s marketing plans for the future.

While Sony skipping a PlayStation Showcase this year may be disappointing, there is still a lot to look forward to.
