God of War Ragnarok DLC Reportedly In Development

Kratos May Return Sooner Than Expected!

God of War Ragnarok launched to incredible buzz last year, hot off the heels of Kratos’ successful transition to the Norse realm. It immediately became a critical hit and went on to sell over 5 million units within seven days.

Following the conclusion of Kratos’ journey in the Norse saga, curious fans have already begun to speculate about the future of God of War and PlayStation’s beloved characters.

While Sony Santa Monica has yet to reveal any information, a reliable leaker has suggested that DLC content for God of War Ragnarok will mark the next big release for the franchise.

Why it matters: A DLC expansion would mean that God of War is returning much sooner than expected.

This information comes from The Snitch, a leaker who has reliably revealed information about various games in the past. According to The Snitch, God of War Ragnarok DLC is on the way.

Last year, Director Eric Williams was asked if Sony Santa Monica had any plans to develop DLC content for God of War Ragnarok. The Director confirmed that nothing was planned, but this appears to have changed.

Earlier this year, a God of War voice actor hinted at the return of Tyr. At the time, many had believed that the voice actor was teasing Tyr’s role in the upcoming God of War TV show, but the latest leak suggests otherwise.

God of War Ragnarok

Unlike the first game in the Norse saga, God of War Ragnarok featured a satisfying conclusion to this part of Kratos’ journey. However, the game left room for expansion through spin-offs.

God of War Ragnarok placed a major focus on Atreus as a character. Therefore, a spin-off focused on Kratos’ son in the same vein as Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Uncharted: The Lost Legacy would not be too far-fetched if the leak is to be believed.

Sony Santa Monica has also been hiring developers familiar with the recent God of War gameplay style.

This job listing was expected to be pointing toward Sony Santa Monica’s next major game for the iconic IP. However, if this leak is to be believed, the job listing provides further evidence for the supposed God of War Ragnarok DLC.
