Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Leak Points To Summer 2024 or Later Release

Expected Before End of 2024!

The Dragon Age franchise has been missing from the industry since late 2014. However, Bioware has its eyes set on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf after the failure of Anthem, hoping to revive the popular RPG series.

Bioware recently announced as many as 50 layoffs at the studio, claiming to restructure for optimized development of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and the next Mass Effect release.

However, a popular leaker claims that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been delayed internally, with the game having been unable to meet its internal September 2023 deadline.

Why it matters: This points to another concerning project from Bioware. While the studio was famous for quality releases several years ago, recent failures like Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda have not inspired much confidence.

According to Jeff Grubb, Bioware pushed the internal target to March 2024 not too long ago. However, this target was delayed again. Elaborating on the game’s development, Jeff Grubb said:

“It is not coming out until summer 2024 at the earliest. If it moves again, don’t be surprised because I think it’s very likely.”

The leaker believes Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is likely to launch before 2024 ends. He also reports that Bioware is moving developers from Mass Effect, which is currently in pre-production, to help with Dragon Age.

While this should help the studio wrap up its next project sooner, Mass Effect is likely to see a small delay due to these changes at Bioware.

While official information about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf remains sparse, a leaked video provided an early look at the RPG earlier this year. The footage makes it clear that the game still requires more time in development, but it was confirmed to be playable from start to finish last year.

Bioware is likely hoping to ensure that it does not repeat the same mistake as the studio’s last two releases, with aims to release another successful RPG like Dragon Age: Inquisition.
