According to Genki_JPN, who frequently reports on news from Japanese creators and developers, it is a game they both respect and admire, likely due to the well-rounded experience presented by developer Sucker Punch.

It has been over four years since the studio began collecting heaps of praise from various Japanese developers. In the past, the creator of Resident Evil had similarly positive words to say about the game.

 

Most of the praise comes from the fact that Sucker Punch did such a great job of portraying Japanese culture and traditions despite offering a fictional experience. The studio was also initially doubted due to being a Western team.

However, it’s safe to say that it went above everyone’s expectations to deliver a great experience.
