Bayek Voice Actor Wants An Assassin’s Creed Origins Sequel

"I Want A Sequel. I'm Ready"

Story Highlights
  • The voice actor behind Assassin’s Creed Origin’s Bayek states that he wants a sequel.
  • He believes Bayek’s story still has more room for exploration.
  • The voice actor wants to see Bayek in Greece, even though Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was already set in Greece.

Assassin’s Creed Origins was the biggest departure for Ubisoft’s 200 million seller franchise in 2017. Shifting to the RPG genre, going back in time instead of forward, and fundamentally changing the combat system- it made several changes to the formula.

While the RPG era is reportedly on its way out soon, Assassin’s Creed Origins was a breath of fresh air in 2017. The game featured Bayek as the lead, and while his story was wrapped up, the character’s voice actor still wants a sequel today.

Why it matters: Most Assassin’s Creed protagonists do not receive more than one game. The likes of Ezio and Altair are exceptions since they were featured in multiple titles.

In an interview with Denofgeek, voice actor Abubakar Salim discussed his latest game, Tales of Kenzera: Zau. During the interview, his role as Bayek was brought up, and the voice actor expressed interest in revisiting the protagonist.

I want a sequel. I’m ready.

In his opinion, a new chapter for the character could take place in Greece.

The voice actor is willing to return for the role if Ubisoft ever decides to create a sequel. He also believes the story has more potential since Bayek’s character arc was left without much closure.

As fans of the franchise, we thought Abubakar Salim’s performance as Bayek was the best part of Assassin’s Creed Origins. The voice actor brilliantly captured his brutal and rage-fueled narrative while carefully portraying his more gentle side.

Even as early as the killing of Rudjek, his acting skills were on full display. As for the sequel, Bayek is often considered one of this IP’s strongest characters, so revisiting him might not be a bad idea.

In fact, a fan petition was created as early as 2018, demanding Ubisoft return to this protagonist.

Bayek Calls on Senu To Survey His Surroundings

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has long since moved on. Currently focusing on Assassin’s Creed Red, the gaming giant is expected to reveal its latest entry in the IP soon, followed by a launch this year.

Assassin’s Creed Red fulfills the age-old demand for a Japanese setting from this series. However, we would be lying if we said a Bayek sequel would not be equally exciting.
