Xbox Disappoints Fans With No Presence At The Game Awards

Xbox Disappoints At TGA 2022!

The Game Awards showcase has recently concluded, and the gaming industry has seen various new reveals and announcements. Highly rumored games like Death Stranding 2 and the new Transformers game have now been showcased, while fans have also been pleasantly surprised by a few reveals.

However, Microsoft failed to make an impact at the show. Despite a massive slate of games for 2023, Xbox has disappointed fans with a nearly non-existent presence at The Game Awards.

Xbox Game Pass

Interestingly, Phil Spencer was present at The Game Awards. This led many fans to believe that Xbox would showcase a few notable titles like Starfield at some point during the showcase. But this did not happen, and Microsoft was entirely missing from The Game Awards except for a few Game Pass and Xbox advertisements.

In contrast, PlayStation had several small reveals. Returnal was officially announced for PC, and The Last of Us Part 1 also got a PC release date. While none of PlayStation’s announcements were huge, the gaming giant appeared on the big screen a few times.

Many fans have speculated that Microsoft’s ongoing Activision Blizzard acquisition could be to blame for the lack of reveals and trailers. The FTC has already filed a lawsuit against Microsoft, making it difficult for the company to plan for the event.

Fans believe that Microsoft withheld announcements to prevent further scrutiny from regulators. It is no secret that Xbox has huge games like Starfield, Redfall, and Forza Motorsport coming in 2023, so this theory does hold some merit.

Fans worldwide are disappointed at Microsoft’s lack of showings at The Game Awards. However, an exciting line-up has already been announced for 2023. Despite a disappointing showing, Xbox fans have a lot to look forward to next year.
