The Duskbloods Network Test Abandoned Early Following Unexpected Server Issues

Particularly Bad Sign For An Online-Focused Title!

Story Highlight
  • The Duskbloods closed network test suffered major server issues during its first session.
  • Players reported facing several issues logging into the game, and FromSoftware also acknowledged these problems.
  • These disruptions eventually led to the network test going offline for good, creating concerns about the game’s online connectivity.

The Duskbloods’ much-anticipated network test finally went live after a wave of previews. However, as players were attempting to jump in, most were faced with severe connectivity problems.

Only a few hours later, FromSoftware decided to end the first network test session permanently.

Why it matters: The Duskbloods, like last year’s Elden Ring Nightreign, is focused on online gameplay, so poor servers and connectivity problems could ruin the game for good.

The first closed network test for The Duskbloods has been derailed by server problems, with players struggling to access FromSoftware’s upcoming Switch 2 exclusive at all. According to multiple reports, the servers were unable to support the wave of fans attempting to play.

FromSoftware was quick to take note of these problems and suggested fixes like using an Ethernet connection. However, less than 3 hours after the test went live, the studio apologized for the inconveniences and took the servers down.

During this time, many fans noted that the game was practically unplayable and wouldn’t progress beyond the main menu screen. FromSoftware has promised to continue making improvements to the game’s online connectivity and servers, but this test is certainly concerning, especially since The Duskbloods is designed around online gameplay.

The Duskbloods Is Very Different Compared To Other From Titles

The network test will once again go live tomorrow, and here’s hoping that things will proceed more smoothly this time around, since the team still has plenty of time to test the game, with the network test planned to run for multiple days.

What do you think about these disruptions? Were you able to join the network test?
