Take-Two Plans To Release Two Remasters By March 2024

Evidence For Red Dead Redemption Remaster And GTA 4!

Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar Games. The publisher owns IPs like GTA and Red Dead Redemption. Additionally, Take-Two is home to various other IPs like the NBA 2K franchise.

Previously, Take-Two revealed that it was expecting several groundbreaking titles in FY2025, potentially hinting at GTA 6. However, the publisher’s report also confirms that two remasters are planned before March 2024.

Why it matters: Red Dead Redemption was recently rated in Korea, leading to speculation about a remaster. Take-Two’s statement appears to further hint at a potential remaster.

The report states Take-Two is looking to release 2 new iterations of previous titles for FY2024. Take-Two’s fiscal year ends in March 2024, so two remasters will be released in the coming months.

Following the recent reports of Red Dead Redemption Remaster, it seems likely that one of these two titles from Take-Two will be a re-release for Red Dead Redemption. While nothing is confirmed, GTA 4 could also be a candidate for a remaster.

Previously, a report claimed Rockstar was planning to remaster GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption after the release of the GTA Trilogy. However, the trilogy was poorly received, and Rockstar’s plans were put on hold.

While Take-Two has several IPs for the second remaster, no other franchise can rival the popularity of Grand Theft Auto. If prior reports are to be believed, some work had already been done on a remaster for GTA 4.

Two remasters would allow Rockstar to keep fans engaged while waiting for the next GTA title. However, one of these re-releases could also be a next-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rockstar has already released a similar update for GTA 5 on consoles, and it would not be surprising for its latest title to receive this treatment.

Additionally, Take-Two has confirmed eight re-releases are currently in development. This likely includes the previously announced Max Payne remakes from Remedy Entertainment, among other unannounced games.
