Update:-
The ESRB has now removed the rating page for Stray on Xbox consoles. However, a separate page for PlayStation and PC is still up.
This could mean that the ESRB was too quick to rate the game for Xbox. Since the game’s first-year anniversary is coming up in July, Stray might be a few months away from its release on Xbox platforms.
On the other hand, it is possible that the game may not come to Xbox at all, but fans can only wait for an official confirmation in the next few months.
Original Story:-
Stray delivered the perfect cat simulator in 2022 and won everybody over with its adorable main character. Last year, the game was also nominated for the Game of The Year award at TGA 2022.
However, Stray was released as a PlayStation console exclusive. This meant that Xbox players were not able to enjoy the title, but it looks like this will change soon. The ESRB has now rated Stray for various Xbox consoles.
Why it matters: Timed exclusivity is a big part of the console gaming business today. However, most timed exclusive games eventually make it to other platforms, and the same appears to be the case for last year’s popular cat game.
This should mean that a release for Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X is right around the corner.
An exact release date has not been revealed, but an announcement could be made soon. Previously, Stray was announced as a timed exclusive to PlayStation, but not much was said about the duration of this exclusivity window.
Stray was also released as part of the PS Plus Extra subscription on PS4 and PS5. Therefore, Xbox users might see the game joining Microsoft’s rival subscription, Xbox Game Pass.
With the game’s first anniversary fast approaching, Stray might be released on Xbox consoles as early as July 2023.
