Sony Reassures Nearing Release!

Spider-Man 2 is the most awaited first-party title from PlayStation coming this year. However, the gaming giant has been silent about the game since 2021.

This has led to fans being concerned about a potential delay. However, in a new earnings report, Sony reassured investors that the title is set to release within the current fiscal year.

The report stated:

“We are also planning to release a major title, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, this fiscal year”

The fiscal year is set to end next March, so we may see the game release sometime before March 2024, most likely in Fall 2023, going by the previous announcement.

Previously, Venom’s Voice Actor also revealed that the game would be released sometime in September. This is also backed by an insider who claimed a Fall 2023 release date. The promotion for the game is expected to go full swing a month before the game’s launch.

However, the statement leaves room for a slight delay to early 2024. While reports suggest a delay is unlikely, fans should keep their expectations in check until more information is revealed.

Aside from a reveal trailer in 2021, there has been no official information regarding the game. But fans hope to see a new trailer and gameplay at the upcoming PlayStation Showcase, reportedly premiering in May.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature both returning Spider-Man protagonists from Insomniac’s previous titles. Aside from two protagonists, the game is also set to feature multiple foes like Kraven The Hunter and Spider-Man’s most iconic villain, Venom.
