Spider-Man 2: Insomniac Games Teases New Dialogue Technology

Innovation For Spider-Man 2 And Wolverine?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine are two of the most highly anticipated games for the PS5 console. Both games will feature popular comic book characters, with Insomniac Games leading development.

While little is known about these projects in terms of gameplay and new features, Insomniac Games has teased a small innovation that fans can expect in the upcoming games.

The latest Twitch stream from the developer talks about a very cool dialogue technology for the next game.

The developer did not go into too much detail about this technology, potentially to surprise players at a later date.

As such, it is difficult to judge what this could mean, but fans have speculated that this could be a hint at using AI for more meaningful NPC dialogue. This could lead to more natural conversations around the world as Spider-Man interacts with it.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to feature villains like Kraven the Hunter and Venom. Both main characters from the last two Spider-Man games are also returning, and improved dialogue would go a long way to help the game evolve on its excellent foundation from previous titles.

Rumors have pointed to a PlayStation showcase before E3 in 2023. If true, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is almost certain to be at the showcase, and Insomniac Games might use the opportunity to elaborate on this technology further.

The feature may also make its way into Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine. Leaks have claimed that the game is aiming for a Mature rating, and a rough release window is set for 2024, only a year after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release in the Fall of 2023. The game will be exclusive to the PS5 console and is expected to end the year on a high note for Sony and PlayStation.
