Spider-Gwen Game Being Demanded From Insomniac Following New Movie

A Spider-Gwen Game From Insomniac?

Insomniac Games revealed the first official gameplay for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 recently, and it has accumulated nearly 20 million views since then. Fans have been very excited with the new additions like multiple characters, Symbiote abilities, and more.

However, the latest movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has led to even more excitement around the franchise, and fans are now asking for another addition to the Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.

Following the positive reception of the movie, many fans are asking for Spider-Gwen from Insomniac Games.

Why it matters: The character played an important part in the movie and has garnered a massive fan following since her appearance in the first Spider-Verse movie.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was a highly anticipated sequel, and fans appear to be loving the movie. Following the movie, users took to Twitter, asking for Spider-Gwen to receive her own spin-off, much like Miles Morales’ game in 2020.

This would allow Insomniac Games to provide a different experience in the Spider-Man universe, with a focus on Gwen’s character and abilities.

Others have suggested that Insomniac Games should create a smaller DLC focused on the character, citing Batgirl’s DLC from Batman Arkham Knight as an example.

Despite the recent demand, Insomniac Games is currently focused on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so Spider-Gwen is unlikely to be featured in any game for a few years.

However, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 already features multiple characters with an instant switching mechanic. As such, it would not be far-fetched to expect a third character to join the roster.

Previously, the developer created a separate spin-off to focus on Miles Morales in 2020. This was an unexpected move since general audiences had only begun to familiarize themselves with Miles at the time.

Therefore, a similar spin-off for Spider-Gwen is possible with enough demand and interest from Insomniac Games.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has already surpassed $200 million at the box office, and it is expected to continue this success in the coming weeks.

Insomniac Games could use this opportunity to capitalize on the excitement, bringing a unique title with the character and potentially integrating her into the larger Spider-Man narrative from the developer.
